Our Story

Stella Maris was born from a simple yet profound dream. Founded on July 16, 1985, by Drg. Strela and her late husband Lukman, the institution began with a heart for humanity and community.

What started as a compassionate vision evolved into a commitment to education. On May 15, 1995, the first Stella Maris School opened its doors in BSD (Bumi Serpong Damai), Tangerang. What began with Playgroup, Kindergarten, and Primary school quickly grew as parents recognized the unique blend of quality education and character building.

By 2001, we expanded our horizons with a High School program and received the ISO 9001-2000 certificate for excellence in education management. Today, Stella Maris stands as a beacon of innovation, serving over 1,500 students with a dedicated team of over 200 professional educators.
