Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our Secondary programme

What is the difference between IB Diploma and IB certificate?
The IB Diploma Program requires students to take six different subjects (3 subjects in High Level, 3 subjects in Standard Level), together with two semesters of Theory of Knowledge. Diploma candidates also write an Extended Essay of about 4000 words. They also have to complete Creativity/Action/Service (CAS) activities and a project between the beginning of junior year and March of senior year.

Certificate Program students pick one or several courses from the six courses, but doesn't take the Theory of Knowledge, doesn't write an Extended Essay, and doesn't complete CAS activities or the project. Certificate program students can choose all subjects in Standard level.

What is the percentage of IB Diploma and IB certificate graduates?
50-50 which is based on the students scores, students motivation, the requirement of the schools they want to go to, and parents support.
What is the advantage of taking the IB curriculum?
Students who join the IB program are equipped for the skills that they need in university such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, essay and report writing.

They are also exposed to real life situations such as the topics they use case studies in class, CAS (Community, Activity and Service) trip, Internship at companies, and other class activities.
